The green was opened for the 2009 season on April 25th and the season kicked off with a members' drive. A purely fun day to get the bowling arms moving it showed up those who have sneaked in some early practice and those members who have spent the off-season on the sofa.
On Sunday 26th April the Club hosted a special Charity Invitation game for bowlers and non-bowlers including some local dignitaries. The Mayor of North Hykeham, Tony Hillier who sponsored our Awards for All grant, opening the event. It was an opportunity for all to admire our new ditches provided with the aid of the grant and to spend money on refreshments, the raffle and tombola. All proceeds were donated to the Mayor's charities.
