Ladies’ Day at the club is when the men do the work and the ladies do the bowling. The men provide morning coffee, prepare and serve lunch for the ladies, complete with wine and wash up afterwards with varying degrees of familiarity with dishcloths.
The ladies draw for partners and play a round robin four bowl pairs game for the Synchro Trophy. This takes the form of a pair of Red Arrows making their famous fly past manoeuvre, hence the name.
This years winners were Jean Brown and Wendy Hooker who were presented with the trophy by our President, Alan Moore. By tradition the men are casually dressed so it is one occasion where Alan does not wear his chain of office.
