The main bits of administrative business were soon completed with the subscription for 2010 agreed, the new committee elected and the Club Rules discussed and accepted. These rules are a bringing together of rules from the Constitution, competition rules and matters decided at AGMs into one place.
President Alan Moore reported on the busy season of league games, county matches, club competitions, county competitions, five touring side visits and other special events. He thanked all the people who keep the club going – green keepers, kitchen helpers, officers and committee, those who do maintenance jobs, run the Umbrella, fly the flag and the bingo team.
He conferred Life Membership on Thelma Bratley, the Ladies Secretary.
Chris Hempsall, the Treasurer, referred to the large expenditure on the improvements to the green, the various items of income and expenditure and concluded (to sighs of relief) that the club’s financial position remains satisfactory. We held two charity days raising £201 for the Hykeham Mayor’s charity and £280 for the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.
