Discussion
Discussion is the fourth element in the AGM. This year it centred on space for spectators and competition rules. The chairman outlined plans for providing some space at one end of the clubhouse which, after suitable groundwork, could take a small marquee. We would lose a few of Alan's well tended roses but make a shelter from the sun. It was agreed this is well worth doing. After last year's big spend the money will have to be raised. Anyone with a few bob to
spare will receive a warm welcome from the treasurer.
Rules are an essential and Hykeham tries to avoid having more than necessary. This year there was a tidying up process to bring them together in an updated list. It met Mr. Churchill’s dictum that anything worth saying can go on one side of a sheet of paper.
Brevity in the rules may explain why discussion was brief or maybe because they are commonsensical.
