Almost 50 members attended the Half Yearly Meeting and there were many apologies from those still involved in indoor bowls leagues and competitions. Struck by laryngitis our chairman also could not attend being for once speechless. Keith, the Vice-Chairman, took the meeting and called on President Alan to start the reports. Which he did by reminding us of the improvements to the pavilion and the green made over the last few years.
Then he described the work done this close season to provide a spectator area next to the pavilion and the purchase of a six by three metre marquee which can be erected over it. This will be used for events such as county games and competitions and visits by touring sides.
Alan then thanked all those who had raised the money for this expansion to our facilities. He also expressed our gratitude to the members who work in the off season to keep the club in good shape whether by painting, rose pruning or, despite the bad winter, getting the green fit for play when it opens in mid-April.
Keith then pointed out that Alan did a lot of work himself and called on the Treasurer who assured us the club is solvent, the Ladies Secretary who reminded the ladies of the county EBF and Bowls Lincs competitions and President’s Days.
